07/28/10 17:57This is to advise that Burlington Northern Railroad Company has scheduled work on the crossing in Welsh on LA 99.

• LA 99 will be closed to all traffic at the Railroad Tracks on Thursday August 12, 2010 from 8:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. to replace the crossing.

• Friday August 13, the road will again be closed at the Railroad Tracks from 8:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. for crews to replace the roadway approaches to the railroad tracks.

Welsh City Police Department will handle normal traffic detour. Wide loads should detour via LA 101 at Lacassine or LA 395 at Roanoke.

07/21/10 20:45NWS detected a line of strong thunderstorms extending from Ville Platte to Crowley moving west at 15 mph.
The primary threat is frequent lightning and wind gusts to near 40mph which could down tree limbs and blow around unsecured small objects. These storms could produce rainfall amounts of around an inch in a short period of time resulting in ponding of water around low lying roadways.

The thunderstorms will be near FENTON by 5:30 PM.
Primary threats are frequent lightning and wind gusts to near 45mph which could down tree limbs and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe home or building until these storms have passed.

07/09/10 10:30Work has been scheduled on LA 102 (between Jennings and Hathaway) approximately 5 miles north of Jennings. If weather permits, LA 102 will be closed to traffic at Mile Post 20.7 beginning at 6:00 A.M. Saturday, July 10, 2010 thru Sunday June 11, 2010. Closure is necessary to replace an existing cross drain at this location.

Traffic should detour via LA 26 and the I-10 North Service Road.
